About Delhi Circuit

The 5.14-Km long Buddh International Circuit has been designed by World-renowned German architect and racetrack designer, Herman Tilke, who has also designed other world-class race circuits in Malaysia, Bahrain, China, Turkey, Indonesia, the UAE, South Africa, South Korea and the US.

Buddh International Circuit has been designed as one of the fastest, most exciting motor racing circuits in the World, is well suited to the requirements of powerful, high-spec racing cars and motorcycles and will host some of the most challenging motor sports events on the planet. The track’s combination of 16 corners, high speed straights, and dramatic changes in elevation has been designed to provide ample opportunities for overtaking, which is what makes motor racing exciting.

The Irungattukottai Race Track is owned by the Madras Motorr Sport Club and is located in Irungattukottai, Sriperumbudur, Chennai, which is an industrial town in Kanchipuram district of Tamil Nadu. The track is 11 meters wide and has 12 major curves, apart from a number of minor ones. A smaller club circuit of 2.1 kms is also available for shorter events. The main track has three straights, with the longest one being 250 meters. The main circuit is about 3.717 kms long, while the club circuit is 2.1 kms long. The circuit conforms to the two international bodies – the federation internationale de automobile (FIA) and the federation internationale du motocyliste (FIM), who lay down the norms for racing and racing circuits.
